That’s one thing that I can confidently say is that Lightroom almost never crashes.

I have the 3.0.1 version of aperture 3 and it is NOT stable yet. It crash my brand new Imac 27¨ too often to take the software in consideration for my professional workflow..I think I´ll keep using LR until Apple release a stable version.

Nice quick review. I would look again at importing the Lightroom ratings, etc. as the New Features list of Aperture 3 says that it now supports importing XMP files, so it should be possible.

I am awaiting my copy of Aperture 3 (upgrade) as we speak and I will publish my findings on my website when I have investigated things myself.

Thanks for the nice review. I have also had initial problem with crashes, both using the autoenhance preset and while trying to set a custom printing layout. Scott Bourne at Photofocus also reports crashes. http://photofocus.com/2010/02/10/aperture-3-0-first-glance/

Since there has been no public beta, the released version is essentially a beta and the presence of bugs is not surprising. Once Apple corrects these, I think this will be an impressive product.
