Charles, you are so correct. The gear only allows you to push your vision further, if you do in fact have vision. You are already on your way. I'll take the 20d too!

Jay,

Good job explaining the DX.

Recently I moved up from a 20D, Huh what is that an antique, to a 5 MkII with the option for a 1D MkIII. I chose the 5 because of video capability.

While I lust for a 1DX that will have to wait for another day, while I learn to master the new capabilities of the 5 MkII.

One complement to your skills Jay is that I thinks I could give my 20D to you and you could still shoot images with it that would be suburb. New technology is great but talent will win over hardware every time.

Great article! A workshop is a great idea. You have a great talent for the tedious!

I'm in PDX, but would travel north if you line something up.

Oh dear Jay,

My pile is so deep I can't even see the top. I am starting on digitizing my 35mm slides that go back the the 50s and some of the pix from my parents albums earlier that that.

I found a photo of me next to an Aeronca Champ as a 18 year old. What happen to that kid?

Yeah, I discovered the album capability in LR4 and this is a feature that offers the opportunity to create unique family presents.

Maybe you ought to do a work shop on your organization technique.

I like it Jay! Great choice of imagery and I like how they are rendered full screen. It was a little jarring at first when I saw that full screen image of the boxes, until I realized what was going on. Cool!

Excellent! I like your new website, visually as well as the content. The images clearly come from the things you feel passionate about and the overlap between each of them complements each portfolio. For example, I like how your eye for nature and landscape is evident in the moutainbiking images and helps communicate your experience. It looks more you are following a path to where you want to go, and like all other paths has turns and Ys more than changes in direction.
